Orca Maritime, Inc. is actively seeking a Mid-Level MCM System Analyst to support the US Navy Mine Warfare Readiness and Effectiveness Measuring (MIREM) at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA.
This position is associated with an upcoming contract that Orca Maritime is pursuing, with an estimated award/work start late 2025. We are conducting preliminary, “contingent” hiring for roles associated with this contract. The work start is dependent upon Orca Maritime being awarded this contract.
Typical Responsibilities:
Provides support to SMWDC for the development and administration of a MCM objective assessment program focused on current and future Navy MCM programs
Conducts MCM system, sensor, and personnel performance assessments, data collection and measurement of operating capabilities and proficiency with the goal of informing adequacy and improvement of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities; and developing a thorough understanding of current MCM asset effectiveness
Supports development and revision of TTP for MCM legacy, MCM Mission Package, and emerging MCM capabilities
Supports designing tactically relevant assessment scenarios meeting analytical goals and assessment objectives
Coordinates with MCM organizations and operators throughout planning, execution, and analysis efforts
Location: Onsite at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA
Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel is anticipated to include CONUS and OCONUS locations
Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: repetitive motion, traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches), speaking or vision.
Existing Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim security clearance. A candidate with especially strong, relevant experience but no active security clearance may still be considered, but work start would be dependent upon a new Secret clearance being awarded.
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree
Education in or experience with conducting systems analysis and assessments
At least three (3) years of experience with Mine Countermeasure (MCM) systems
Proficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent communication skills
Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience assessing Current Mine Countermeasure (MCM) legacy systems and emerging MCM Mission Package Capabilities.
