Tracy Dixon retired as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Senior Chief after 27 years of active duty in the United States Navy, 22 years in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). He qualified as a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, Navy Second Class Diver, Naval Parachutist, and Submarine Warfare Specialist. During his 22 years in Navy EOD he deployed to the Arabian Gulf as part of a Mine Countermeasures Detachment during the Tanker Wars, attached to EOD Group ONE Detachment Alpha in Bahrain and Kuwait during Desert Storm, provided EOD oversight to Commander Navy Region Hawaii for the Kahoolawe Ordnance Clean Up, served as Future Operations Department Staff NCO for the first Expeditionary Strike Group deployment aboard USS Pelelieu (LHA-5), served at the Pentagon as Operations NCO and leader of the Counter Radio Controlled IED Electronic Warfare working group for the Joint IED Defeat Task Force (JIEDDTF), planned joint EOD ground deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as EOD Group ONE Operations LCPO, and coordinated with planners from 10 foreign navies in the Arabian Gulf region as EOD Future Operations LCPO and Exercise Planner for US Navy Central Command’s Theater Security Cooperation effort.
